How file transfers work
TV Transfer on Android phones and Android TV works without an account or an Appsidy cloud storage service. A receiver on Android TV starts in Receive mode automatically; a receiving Android phone uses its Receive tab. Either advertises itself through local network discovery (mDNS) when supported. The sender can also use an IP address and port entered manually. Manual addresses can reach devices outside a local network when routing permits; protect the receiver from public network access and use a trusted network.
The sender accesses only a file you choose using Android's system picker or an explicit Share action. A system-granted content:// URI gives temporary access to that file. The app does not transfer it until you enter a valid pairing code and press Send. File metadata and contents are encrypted and authenticated during transfer; the receiver validates the completed file before keeping it in private app storage. The selected remote receiver gets the file because you requested the transfer. Other installed viewers you use to open the file have their own policies.
Data, third parties and advertising
The audited unsigned code19 release AAB (target API 36) contains no Google Advertising ID permission. Review of 149 resolved release dependencies and its compiled R8 DEX found no known third-party advertising, analytics or cloud SDK; this limited audit cannot rule out system/Google services. App-owned code does not send files, pairing codes or analytics to Appsidy, and Appsidy runs no transfer relay. A clearly labeled Appsidy house promotion appears at most once per rolling 24 hours. The impression timestamp stays in private app preferences. There is no advertising network SDK or ad identifier for this promotion. Only tapping Explore opens https://appsidy.com/ in an external browser, governed by that website and browser privacy practices. Storage and your choices
Received files remain in private storage on the receiver until you delete them from TV Transfer or clear app data/uninstall it. They may be opened through another app if you explicitly choose. Files on the sender remain under control of their original storage provider. Files involved in interrupted transfers should not be committed as completed received files. Access to selected content comes from temporary Android grants, not unrestricted gallery/storage permissions. The app does not enable company-operated remote backups of received files.
